This work aims at providing acoustic evidence of the presence of post-aspiration (long lag VOT) in the voiceless stops /p t k/ produced by a group of Calabrian speakers. Post-sonorant voiceless stops extracted from dialectal speech of the third, fourth and fifth dialectological areas of Calabria (Trumper, Maddalon, 1988; Trumper, 2016) will be analysed. As regards each area, the acoustic data are examined taking into account age and gender stratification of the informants. Finally, a comparison of results among the three areas is presented. This research step is part of a wider project whose goal is to map and describe the aspiration feature in the whole regional context.
