Reflections and proposals for the birth of an audiovisual archive

Abstract

In Italy, the relation between the terms ‘archive’, ‘record’, and ‘oral source’ has still not been fully explored. This paper discusses about these terms starting with the understanding of their meaning and use in the Italian archival studies and in research areas based on fieldwork producing, using and preserving records related to oral sources.
